Taungoo Nge was founded by King Tha Wun in 640 (AD 1278). He also established Taungoo Gyi (Da Nya Wa Dy, Aung Char Wady) in 641 (AD 1279). King Mingyi Nyo founded Mya Waddy in 847(AD 1485) and Da Nya Wa Dy in 853(AD 1492). KayTuMadi Taungoo was established by Min Gyi Nyo on full moon day of Ta Saung Mone in 847(16th October,1510 (AD) ). According to the saying “ Tha Ra Wun Brothers begin Taungoo”, Taungoo Nge was founded by Thara Wun brothers. Due to narrow space of land, he moved to Da Nya Wa Dy or Taungoo Gyi in 641. After that, King 29th Min Gyi Nyo temporarily stayed in Myawaddy in 847. During his reigned in Myawaddy,the five districts (Pyinmana, Taung Nyo, Lewe, Yan Aung Myin, Kyi Daung) and King Hanthawaddy’s territory kat kye kaung Pyar and Kyauk Maw were conquered . As the number of people increased, at the confluence of the Paunglaung River and the Khapaung (kabaung) River, the new town called Dwaravati was established in 853 and ruled for 20 years. According to the increasing forces of country, He built KayTuMadi Taungoo, its wide was 700 miles from east to west and 500 miles from north to south, with 20 gates and 20 sima (Buddhist ordination hall).
