SriKsetra Heritage Sites

SarekhettarÈ was nominated as an Outstanding Universal Value on the date of 22-6-2014 (Sunday) at the 38th conference of World Heritage which was held in Doha city of Qatar.
SarekhettarÈ, the ancient city, is located about 5 miles from East of Pyay city and about 180 miles from North-West of Yangon. The city wall is 8 miles and 5 furlongs long and its area is 5.5 square miles. SarekhettarÈ is the largest ancient city among three of Pyu ancient cities.
 	There are Pyu Tike (or) old mounds, which are square shapes, at the north and south of the ancient city. There are three old mounds at the south of the city and one mound, which is near PayamaStupa, is at the north.
SarekhettarÈ, the ancient city, was established by leading of the ArhatGawunpatae at the Buddhist Era 101. It was ruled by King Duttapaung, and with the commencement of c|lÈsÑbawa, MahÈsÑbawa and King Duttapaung, 27 dynasties ruled it. In the 16th Era, at the reign of King SupapaÒÒanÈgarachiÑda, SarekhettarÈ was ruined. Moreover, it was found in Mon stone inscription, which was at the reign of King Kyansittar (AD 1084-1113), the Buddha preordained that SarekhettarÈ city will be established by the Arhat Gawunpatae, the Sakka, the WisakruÑmale nat and the Dragon king katakÑma.
 It is proved that SarekhettarÈ is one of the grand and prosperous ancient cities by the city entrances, ancient temples and stupas, and the existing ancient stupas such as Bawbawgyi, phayagyi and phayama.
SarekhettarÈ ancient city was started to be excavated by Superintendent of Stone Inscription Taw SeinKho and General Leon Debeylie in 1907, and Mr. Taw SeinKho and MonseyaDwroise excavated before World War II. It has been re-excavated since 1962 to until now.

Besides the temples and stupas from SarekhettarÈ ancient city ,there are many Pagodas in Pyay District, Bago Region (West) are famous all over the length and breadth of the Union of Myanmar.Among them, this system states the history of  Shwe San Daw, Shwe Bon Thar Muni, Shwe Nat Taung  and Shwe Myat Hman pagodas .

ကာတာနိုင်ငံ၊ ဒိုဟာမြို့တွင်ကျင်းပသော (၃၈)ကြိမ်မြောက် ကမ္ဘာ့ ယဉ်ကျေးမှုအမွေအနှစ် ညီလာခံမှ(၂၂ . ၆ . ၂၀၁၄) (တနင်္ဂနွေ)နေ့တွင် ကမ္ဘာလုံးဆိုင်ရာ စံတန်ဖိုး (Outstanding Universal Value)ဖြင့်အကဲဖြတ်ပြီး သရေခေတ္တရာ မြို့ဟောင်းကို ကမ္ဘာ့အမွေအနှစ်ဒေသအဖြစ် သတ်မှတ်ခဲ့ပါသည်။     
သရေခေတ္တရာမြို့ဟောင်းသည် ပြည်မြို့အရှေ့ဘက် (၅)မိုင်ခန့်အကွာ၊ ရန်ကုန်မြို့၏ အနောက်မြောက်ဘက် (၁၈၀)မိုင်ခန့်အကွာတွင် တည်ရှိသည်။ မြို့ရိုး၏အရှည်သည် (၈)မိုင် (၅)ဖာလုံရှိပြီးဧရိယာအားဖြင့် (၅.၅) စတုရန်းမိုင် ကျယ်ဝန်းသည်။ မြန်မာနိုင်ငံရှိ ပျူမြို့ဟောင်း(၃) မြို့အနက်အကြီးဆုံး မြို့ဟောင်းတစ်ခုဖြစ်သည်။ မြို့ဟောင်း၏ တောင်ဘက်နှင့်မြောက်ဘက်တွင် လေးထောင့်စတုရန်းပုံသဏ္ဍာန် “ပျူတိုက်” ခေါ် ကုန်းဟောင်းများရှိသည်။ ပျူတိုက်များကို မြို့ဟောင်း၏ တောင်ဘက်ပိုင်းတွင်သုံးခု၊ မြောက်ဘက်ပိုင်းတွင် ဘုရားမာစေတီအနီး၌ တစ်ခုရှိပါသည်။
သရေခေတ္တရာ မြို့ဟောင်းသည် သာသနာတော်သက္ကရာဇ် ၁၀၁ခုနှစ်တွင် ဂဝံပတေ့ အရှင်သူမြတ် အမှူးပြု၍ ကြပ်မတ်တည်ထောင်ပြီးလျှင် ဒွတ္တပေါင်မင်းကြီး စိုးစံသော မြို့ဖြစ်ကြောင်း၊ စူဠာသမ္ဘဝ၊ မဟာသမ္ဘဝနှင့် ဒွတ္တပေါင်မင်းကြီးမှ အစပြု၍ မင်းစဉ်မင်းဆက်(၂၇)ဆက် အုပ်စိုးလာခဲ့ရာ သုပညာနာဂရဆိန္ဒမင်းလက်ထက်၌ သရေခေတ္တရာပြည်ကြီး ပျက်စီးခဲ့သည်။ ထို့ပြင် ကျန်စစ်သားမင်းကြီးလက်ထက် (ခရစ်နှစ်၁၀၈၄-၁၁၁၃) တွင် ရေးထိုးထားသော မွန်ကျောက်စာများ၌ မြတ်စွာဘုရားသခင် ပရိနိဗ္ဗာန်စံတော်မူသောနှစ်တွင် ဗိဿနိုးရသေ့သည် ဂဝံပတေ့ရဟန္တာ၊ သိကြားမင်း၊ ဝိသကြုံနတ်သား၊ ကဋကမ္မနဂါးမင်းတို့နှင့်အတူ သရေခေတ္တရာမြို့ကိုတည်ထောင်ဖန်ဆင်းလိမ့်မည်ဟုမြတ်စွာဘုရားဗျာဒိတ်တော်ထားခဲ့သည်။ အစဉ်အလာအရ သရေခေတ္တရာမြို့ကြီးသည် တစ်ချိန်ကကြီးကျယ်ခမ်းနား စည်ပင်ဖွံ့ဖြိုးခဲ့သော ရှေးဟောင်းမြို့တစ်မြို့ဖြစ်ကြောင်း ကြွင်းကျန်တည်ရှိသော မြို့ဟောင်းရာနှင့်မြို့ခင်းမြို့ကွက်နေရာများ၊မြို့ဝင်ပေါက်ကြီးများ၊ မြို့ဟောင်းအတွင်း တည်ရှိနေသော ရှေးဟောင်းစေတီပုထိုးများနှင့် ယနေ့တိုင်အထင်အရှားတည်ရှိနေသော ဘောဘောကြီး၊ဘုရားကြီး၊ဘုရားမာအစရှိသောရှေးဟောင်းစေတီကြီးများကသက်သေပြလျက်ရှိသည်။ 
သရေခေတ္တရာမြို့ဟောင်းကို (၁၉၀၇)ခုနှစ်တွင်ကျောက်စာဝန်တော်စိန်ခိုနှင့် ပြင်သစ်ဗိုလ်ချုပ်လီယွန်ဒီဗဲလီယေ (Debeylie, Leon) တို့ကစတင်တူးဖော်ခဲ့ကြပြီး မစ္စတာတော်စိန်ခိုနှင့်မွန်ဆီယာဒူရောဇယ် (Dwroise – lie Mons ) တို့ကဒုတိယကမ္ဘာစစ် မတိုင်မီထိတူးဖော်ခဲ့ကြပါသည်။၁၉၆၂ခုနှစ်မှစတင်၍ ပြန်လည်တူးဖော်ခဲ့ရာ ယနေ့ထက် တိုင်ပင်ဖြစ်သည်။
	သရေခေတ္တရာမြို့ဟောင်းအတွင်း ၁၉၆၂ခုနှစ်မှ၂၀၁၉ခုနှစ်အထိ တူးဖော်မှုများမှ ဘုရားစေတီများနှင့် ယဉ်ကျေးမှုပစ္စည်းများကို အောက်ပါအတိုင်း လေ့လာနိုင်ပါသည်။

           သရေခေတ္တရာမြို့ဟောင်းရှိ ဘုရားစေတီများအပြင် ပဲခူးတိုင်းဒေသကြီး အနောက်ပိုင်း၊ ပြည်ခရိုင်တွင် ပူဇော်ထားသည့် ဘုရားစေတီများစွာမှာ မြန်မာနိုင်ငံတွင် ထင်ပေါ်ကျော်ကြား လူသိများသော ဘုရားစေတီများဖြစ်ပါသည်။၄င်းတို့အနက် ရွှေဆံတော်စေတီတော်၊ ရွှေဘုံသာမုနိစေတီတော်၊ ရွှေနတ်တောင်စေတီတော်၊ ရွှေမျက်မှန် စေတီတော်များ၏သမိုင်းကို လေ့လာနိုင်ပါသည်။
